Smoking is injurious in more than one ways
People who smoke have a harder time concentrating in long meetings as the nicotine cravings come and especially bad are times when salespeople have to have people in their cars and have to apologize for the smell. Here is something that has got to shock you - nicotine is not what you are mainly addicted to in cigarettes!
The tobacco companies and even the government and health care industry would have you believe this is true but there is another ingredient in the highly guarded, patent protected list (imagine that, it’s the public’s health at stake and this is a trade secret!) among the 1000’s of chemicals in each cigarette that really is the one responsible for your addiction - and - the terrible struggle for most people to quit. The patch will not work by itself, nicotine gum will not work by itself, medications, drugs, herbal remedies will not work by themselves. Hypnosis will not work by itself unless it is done with one thing in mind.
How to quit smoking
Either nicotine patches or gums are appropriate for adolescents, although most teens will prefer the patch, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. A nicotine nasal spray is available by prescription but, the Academy notes, it is not recommended for use by adolescents. In fact, clinical studies prove that the Committed Quitters Program can improve your chances of quitting by more than 25%, versus the use of nicotine replacement therapy alone. Please take a few minutes to explore this site, which offers a comprehensive guide for all smokers.
Benefits of quitting
Your fingers and teeth are no longer stained with nicotine. Your clothes and hair smell fresh. The group is also studying the genes involved in response to varenicline (Chantix), another popular smoking-cessation drug that works by blocking nicotine from binding to receptors in the brain. Even if such a test is years away, any such head start, as smokers will readily attest, would be a welcome partner in kicking the habit. Nicotine increases the levels of pleasure inducing chemicals in your brain.
